As human-beings it is natural for many of us to base our decisions on both personal judgment and risk. We weigh out the pros and cons, and make choices that we believe are best suited for our current situation.
What many of us may be unaware of is that our subconscious can play a role in skewing our judgment. It can force us to make decisions that, unbeknownst to ourselves, are heavily based on our own underlying fears.
The unfortunate consequence of this skewed rationalization is that our fear based decisions will ultimately stunt our opportunities for growth.
Even more so, these types of decisions prevent us from conquering our own barriers. They force many of us to settle for less than what we are capable of achieving. Simply put, we are the driving force behind our own limitations.
It is important that as individuals we stay mindful of the fact that we are only here for a short amount of time. At the end of it all, we are the ones that are responsible for what we make of this life.
It is only when we are able to accept this notion that we become open to change and allow ourselves the opportunity to regain control over our lives. Acceptance allows us to make decisions with clarity and confidence; shifting our focus from fear and avoidance, to determination and achievement.
It is however, important to note that although uncomfortable feelings of fear and anxiety may at times remain; what changes is the confidence in our abilities to work through those feelings. We are able to recognize fear based decisions, and still have the courage to go for what we want.
We all have the power within us to decide what path we will take. Making fearless decisions will take self discipline, awareness, courage and a leap of faith.
In the end, it is up to you to decide when you are ready to start making decisions that will propel you forward, making the most out of every opportunity this life has to offer.
Cheers!
